Linda Barker’s Home-Made Style: 100 Great Decorating Ideas

From pretty painted plates to a woodgrained cupboard, from classic styles to ultra-modern chic, a top designer and TV star has come up with 100 great ways to make a difference in every room. What would it take to transform your home--a few small items, like a gilded lamp, a ribbonwork cushion, and a cherub clock that will take pride of place on the mantelpiece? Or are you ready for a bigger change--perhaps some elegantly flowing muslin drapes to frame the window (no sewing required!), a dado border on the wall, and stenciled marquetry floorboards? All the popular techniques are included: stenciling, stamping, gilding, découpage, papier mâché, sewing, and ribbon weaving. It's everything you need for decorating success! 256 pages (all in color), 8 3/4 x 11 1/2.

Customer Review: Terrific imagination!

I love the BBCAmerica show "Changing Rooms." All of the designers are wonderful, and I especially like Linda's ideas. So,I purchased this book, and have been happily going over it carefully, looking for ways to make my home "mine." Linda is not afraid to take chances with color, and fabric, and I have yet to be disappointed with her designs. If you are a fan of the show,or simply in need of some top-notch ideas from a very creative designer, this book is for you.

Customer Review: Linda Barker is Amazingly Talented!

I adore the BBC show, "Changing Rooms" and all of Linda's how-to decorating books are top notch. She's SO creative and easy to follow. Her ideas are amazing and her instructions are done is such a way that anyone could re-create her stuff. She's hip, talented and wonderfully personable. It's sad that more Americans aren't aware of Linda and her work. She's brilliant!
