Decorating on a Shoestring: You Can Create a Beautiful Home Without Spending a Fortune (The Shoestring Series)
Customer Review: Decorating Tips from Jesus
I was a bit surprised, when I started reading this book, to find several references to Christianity interspersed with interior-design advice. In a section about bartering for services, for instance, the authors describe barter as "the family of Christ working together." I happen to be Christian myself, but I found that a little peculiar! Nonetheless, there are some great tips throughout. The authors demonstrate that with a little simple sewing or refinishing, or just "the Christian attribute of patience," you can have a comfortable, elegant house that's just your style without spending a lot. I learned quite a bit and would recommend the book to anyone who's not fazed by the religious references.
